Job Description:

  • Develop, write and direct the implementation of therapeutic support plans for students experiencing mental health struggles.
  • Provide consultation with all involved parties including family, school, and community members.
  • Assess referred students and families for needs and refer to other providers, as needed.
  • Provide de-escalation and counseling to students in crisis and emotional distress.
  • Offer group and individual counseling, as needed.
  • Conduct assessments and design behavior / crisis plans. Design, implement, and monitor behavioral modification plans, as needed.
  • Participate in the Student Assistance Program (SAP), as needed.
  • Maintain contact with families and school personnel to ensure communication, collaboration, and the provision of an appropriate level/type of intervention to meet student needs.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree related to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or related field is required and must meet one of the following qualifications:
    • Hold a license as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker
    • Hold a license as a social worker or behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum
    • Have a minimum of one-year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, or counseling
    • Complete a clinical or mental health direct service practicum with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counselor or related field.
  • Current clearances (within 6 months)
