Due to our growth, today we seek a Construction Superintendent for our onsite development team based out of Newport News, VA The ideal candidate is strong in all facets of multifamily and single-family construction including: Sitework, Grading, Paving, Utilities and Ground Up Construction through finished product.

Your role as a Construction Superintendent:

  • Manage day to day operations of the project.
  • Supervise temporary labor and all subcontractors.
  • Perform daily inspections.
  • Supervise and inspect work performed for proper installation and accuracy including, but not limited to: framing, building dimensions, plumbing, slab, electrical, HVAC, cable and phone, sprinklers, insulation, roofing, windows, vinyl siding, sheetrock, landscaping, etc.
  • Holds on-site OSHA inspections to verify compliance.
  • Schedule, manage, assists in ground up construction through finished product.
  • Approve work completion (invoices) per contract scope.
  • Available to grant subcontractors access to various areas of the jobsite.
  • Responsible for picking up materials and supplies and maneuvering those supplies to locations on and off the jobsite.
  • Assists property management maintenance personnel as necessary; performs cleaning, caulking, painting, flooring, carpentry, etc. if needed

What's needed for this role:

  • At least ­­­­­­­­­5 years’ experience in a supervisory on-site construction role or related field, preferably in multifamily and single-family construction.
  • OSHA certification (10-hour OSHA Certification for Construction industry) or competency to achieve certification post hire.
