Job DescriptionJob Description

The Maintenance Technician utilizes mechanical and technical skills to help our customers maintain and ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and safety of pools and hot tubs. They perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of pools, spas, and associated equipment while demonstrating proactive communication, and radiating a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure that pools and hot tubs are operating efficiently and safely. This includes checking water chemistry, pH levels, and temperature, as well as inspecting filters, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Chemical Management: Maintain proper chemical balance in pools and hot tubs to ensure water quality and sanitation. This involves testing water samples, adding chemicals as needed, and adjusting levels to meet health and safety standards.
  • Cleaning and Sanitization: Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, skimming, and scrubbing pool surfaces to remove debris, algae, and other contaminants. Additionally, clean and sanitize hot tub surfaces, jets, and filtration systems.
  • Equipment Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with pool and hot tub equipment, such as pumps, heaters, and automated control systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that pools and hot tubs meet safety regulations and guidelines, including proper signage, fencing, and emergency equipment. Identify and address safety hazards promptly to mitigate risks to users.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients to address maintenance concerns, provide guidance on pool and hot tub usage, and answer questions about maintenance schedules or procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, water quality test results, equipment repairs, and any other relevant documentation. Keep track of inventory and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Seasonal Preparation and Closure: Prepare pools and hot tubs for seasonal changes, such as winterization procedures to prevent freezing damage.
  • Treats company-issued tools and customer equipment with utmost care.
  • Observes safety and security procedures according to OSHA.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in pool and hot tub maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, water treatment methods, and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
