Job Description and Key Responsibilities

This is a mid-level position, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor. The electrical engineer will design and develop electrical/electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs in support of the development of next generation SONAR systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design analog and digital circuits to support acoustic navigation and location devices
  • Design and develop electrical/electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs based on specification requirements, and inputs from customer and other engineers involving multidisciplinary activities
  • Identify tasks associated with existing projects and estimate manpower and other resources required to execute objectives
  • Review requirements for printed circuits, perform schematic and layout design of new boards
  • Perform design analysis and create circuit level tests to establish validity of designs including thermal effects and power dissipation
  • Develop or specify test methods and associated test equipment to verify board function
