POSITION SUMMARY
Provides support for Project Woman while learning about issues related to domestic violence, rape and sexual assault and management of non-profit organizations.
Under supervision of Community Advocacy & Education (CAE) Coordinator. Works alongside CAE Coordinator/Campus Advocate to provide empowerment education for survivors on campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides education and outreach to campuses as assigned.
- Facilitates empowerment education programming on campus, engaging student survivors.
- Supports CAE events and programs affiliated with campus; assists Campus Advocate with promotion, planning, and implementation of programming.
- Collects and maintains data as assigned for CAE documentation.
- Provide support to Intern Supervisor
- Assist with general office tasks (copying, filing, answering multi-line phones, and other clerical duties)
- Assist in supporting survivors and their children.
- May be required to assist with the client in-take process.
- Assist with answering crisis line calls.
- A unique internship plan will be developed with the site supervisor and will serve as an addendum to this job description.
QUALIFICATIONS
College student. Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Must be a team player, have positive attitude, and the ability to interact well with survivors, staff, volunteers, and the public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is moderately active and includes standing and sitting.
