Reports to: Retail (Dispensary) Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Status: Regular, Part Time
THE POSITION:
The Budtender will engage in one-on-one interaction with customers from the time they enter the retail area until they check out and exit the store. The incumbent should be friendly and upbeat while connecting each unique customer to the right product and method of consumption for their needs.
The incumbent must be able to work nights and weekends. The Dispensary Store hours are 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., seven days a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable incumbents with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Assist customers in a customer-facing, intimate retail environment.
- Utilize product and consumption-method knowledge to successfully recommend a safe and effective regimen suited to each patient's specific needs.
- Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked and the presence of the store is well maintained.
- Own responsibility for remaining up-to-date with product knowledge.
- Play an active part in customer/patient education on products, methods of consumption, and safety as part of customer/patient interaction.
- Complete duties assigned during the scheduled shift including:
- correct cash handling and discount application;
- certification of proper paperwork, documentation and ID for customers/patients;
- accurate use and maintenance of the Point of Sale (POS) system;
- accurate and timely data entry of patient profiles in the POS system; and
- maintenance of hard copy files (when required).
- Assist in verifying order deliveries for accuracy.
- Security measures and safety compliance.
- Maintain the visitor log.
- Have clear understanding of the Tribes Cannabis Regulations.
- Follow Dispensary policies and procedures.
- Provide the necessary support to the management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, properly and in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, including:
- daily activities;
- maintenance; and
- patient/customer information for any reported issues and/or complaints.
- Promote a work environment that is positive, communicative, customer-oriented, and compliant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: One (1) year cannabis retail experience required.
- Licensing and Other Qualifications:
- Must obtain required Tribal Cannabis license, once hired.
- Must be twenty (21) years of age, at the time of appointment.
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License.

- Must be willing to submit to a background check and fingerprinting.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations.
- Previous experience with POS systems.
- Desire to continuously learn (more) about cannabis, cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system, various products, and cannabis therapies, previous experience preferred.
- Ability to listen well and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with various audiences.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and email.
- Understanding of applicable federal, Tribal laws and regulations as they pertain
to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, Tribal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures. - Must be willing to work nights and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds with assistance.

- Ability to work in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when the business requires such as performing retail operations outside via curbside service, removing trash or other outdoor tasks.
