RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Essential Functions –

 

  • Conduct classes in reading and listening for students who are not fluent in the English language.
  • Work with program instructional team to evaluate educational materials and implement curriculum.
  • Document and submit monthly student progress and attendance reports.
  • Attend staff development activities as assigned.
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

 

Secondary –

 

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the ABE Coordinator.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Essential):


  • Baccalaureate degree required; education background in education and/or social sciences is preferred.
  • Teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender and disabilities populations.
  • Follow written and oral instructions accurately, give attention to detail, and work independently.
  • Collaborate and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Physical requirements include excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills; understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; visual acuity to view a computer terminal; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; light/indoor work environment.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:

 

The hourly rate of pay is $14.00 per hour, and is contingent on state and federal funding.  This part-time support staff position is not benefit eligible and is nonexempt.  The employee will work 3 evenings per week, 4 hours each evening.  (5:30 – 9:30 p.m.) The employee in this position does not qualify for the benefit package due to the part-time status.

 

Transcripts – The hired candidate will be required to submit official, non-issued to student, transcripts.
