The phlebotomist is an excellent role for those interested in going into a healthcare field of study, who are in school, enjoy patient contact or are needing patient contact hours for a degree requirement.
Job Description:
On-the-job training can be provided and previous experience in phlebotomy or lab is not required. The phlebotomist lab assistant will obtain specimens on patients of pediatric age to elderly as required including, but not limited to: Venous, Capillary and point of care specimen. May be required to perform designated waived laboratory tests with training. Will exhibit problem solving skills and participate in specimen processing, specimen transport and customer service as required.
Education Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED is preferred, but not required.
Experience in a clinical/medical setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license preferred. Phlebotomy certificate and American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification in phlebotomy preferred but is not required.
Shift:
Day/Evening as-needed scheduling rotation with variable shift start/end times. Position hours are flexible, and we are willing to work around schedule needs for the right candidate.
