Position Title: LNG HSSE Technical Writer
Location: Houston, TX (full-time onsite)
 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled HSSE Technical Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation related to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) practices within Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) operations. The role requires a strong understanding of HSSE standards, LNG industry practices, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Documentation Creation: Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including HSSE procedures, safety manuals, risk assessments, incident reports, emergency response plans, and training materials specific to LNG operations.
• Content Management: Organize and maintain a comprehensive library of HSSE documents, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all documentation complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including those set by OSHA, EPA, and other governing bodies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HSSE specialists, engineers, and operational staff to gather information, validate content, and ensure the accuracy of technical documents.
• Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency, clarity, and readability. Implement feedback from internal reviews to enhance the quality of content.
• Technical Expertise: Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in regulations that impact HSSE practices within the LNG sector.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Technical Writing, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or practical experience may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing within the LNG, oil & gas, or energy sector, with a focus on HSSE.
• Skills:
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Robust technical aptitude with an ability to quickly learn, understand, and communicate complex concepts.
  • Familiarity with HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices in the LNG industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in HSSE or technical writing are a plus 
• Knowledge: Understanding of LNG operations, including process safety, environmental protection, and emergency response.
