Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSMS Staffing Inc is Hiring Immediately for a skilled Buyer Job Title: Buyer IJob Location: Plymouth, MN, U.S.A.Job Type: Contract Pay: Starts at $27.00 an hourShift Structure: ONSITE, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekThe role of the Buyer: Will play a crucial role in purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Responsibilities will include evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers for the organization.
  • Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
  • Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
  • Working under immediate supervision and relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Utilizing knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field.
  • Collaborating with supervisors, managers, and other team members to ensure efficient procurement processes.
About the Buyer: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing/commodity management, including working with purchasing/commodity mgt. software.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Knowledge of MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
