Position Summary

Examines castings for conformance to engineering drawings and related documents for dimensional accuracy.

Pay Rate $18.00 to $24.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include but are not limited to the following: include the following. Supervisor may assign other duties. Examines castings for conformity to design/drafting standards. Performs all work according to written work procedures, and verbal and written instruction. Dimensionally examines castings, fixtures, gauges and hand tools and measuring equipment necessary. Verify that all devices, requiring calibration and measurement, meet the required criteria. Performs visual inspection of parts and equipment to ensure conformance to quality standards and to identify non-conformance where it occurs. Records quantity of material approved and rejected on route cards. Determine what actions to take when problems occur and know where to find the resources.

  • Requires excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of using English and Metric Systems of measurement
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve.
  • Must be able to communicate on all levels.
  • Superior attention to detail and precision skills required.
  • Ability to document and coordinate corrective measures.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Some previous work experience may be required for this position.
  • English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills required
  • Work experience.2 years’ work experience may be substituted for education.

  • Regularly lifts 35 lbs
  • This job does require some repetitive motions of the hands and fingers to perform the calculating, measurement and data entry functions

  • Specific Vision abilities required by this job includes near vision 20/20 or 20/25
