Job Overview:
Arrow Alliance Industries seeks a skilled Communications Specialist to support the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) within the Department of the Interior. This role will provide communication and administrative support for the Office of Renewable Energy Programs (OREP), ensuring high-quality internal and external communications, project coordination, and the development of visual and written materials.


The position will assist with various communication tasks including the creation of technical documentation, graphic design, and project scheduling. The ideal candidate will have experience with visual communication, graphic design, and writing for diverse audiences in both technical and non-technical fields.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external communications, including writing weekly employee articles and developing talking points for key engagements.
  • Develop and manage communication strategies for the OREP workforce.
  • Assist with meeting planning and coordination for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and develop visual materials (hardcopy and 508 Compliant electronic formats) for various communication needs.
  • Review, edit, and format content for publication, including web content, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to interpret scientific information and create effective communication materials such as infographics, figures, and multimedia.
  • Maintain quality assurance/control on deliverables, including document production and proofreading.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience in communications, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong knowledge of branding concepts, color theory, and graphic design principles.
  • Experience with MS SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop visual materials that effectively communicate scientific and technical information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector or environmental communications.
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance for electronic communications.
