Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Title: Survey CAD Technician

Position Overview: Seeking a highly motivated individual at 3+ years experience that has experience in creating construction staking point files, completing plats for a variety of surveys, and the creation of digital terrain models from survey data.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Processing of daily field survey data using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to develop finished survey drawings
  • Development of 3D digital terrain models, based on field data, to be used for engineering design.
  • Interact with field crews to ensure the proper field data is being collected.
  • Occasional assistance in the field to confirm finished drawings are representative of field conditions and to further skills toward becoming a registered land surveyor.
  • Coordinates with office staff, engineers and field staff as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Technical Drafting (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD and Survey Software
  • 2+ years of experience in land surveying
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Attention to detail and documentation.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees and the public.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
