Pay Rate: $14.50 Per Hr.GEOTEMPS, INC. is currently looking for a LIFEGUARD for our valued client in Morenci, Arizona. This individual must have a commitment to teamwork, safety and following policy and protocol. This opportunity is best suited for an individual who is comfortable as a lifeguard and performing public safety work in preventing injuries in the municipal pool facility.SUMMARY:Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Duties include preventing accidents, effectively enforcing pool rules and regulations.RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Constant observance of patrons.
  • Enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
  • Administration of first aid and / or artificial resuscitation.
  • Eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Responsible for completion of pool deck work.
  • May assist in conducting special swimming classes and activities.
  • Handling all patron and pool problems in an efficient and proper manner.
  • Be able to function as part of an effective crew.
  • Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in an event of emergency.
  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Open the pool each day and close it down every evening.
  • Monitor pool related activities.
  • Monitor weather reports closely to ensure guests safety.
  • Organize and oversee pool parties.
  • Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the supervisor.
MININUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current certification as Lifeguard by recognized source of training.
  • CPR Certified
  • Less than high school with 6 months to 1-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • First Aid certificate is preferred
REQUIRED:
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Skill in applications of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol screening
  • Background and reference check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb, lift, pull, and swim while in swimwear.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.
  • Must have stamina to work long hours and overtime.
  • Must be able to hold breath for a decent amount of time.
