As a Materials Tester, you will prepare reports, reviews project plans and specifications.
Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
  •  Prepare reports, reviews project plans and specifications
  •  Work within a team of construction managers, office managers, inspectors, testers and surveyors to successfully complete the construction of projects
  •  Perform field sampling and testing, and perform laboratory testing per ITD and other agency procedures and processes
  •  Complete test reports and documentation per ITD and other agency requirements for all testing performed
  •  Work alongside ITDs Construction Department and contractor’s construction crew or other agency construction management personnel in an augmentation role


Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • A minimum of three years of highway construction material testing experience beneficial but not required
  • Certification under American Concrete Institute (ACI) as Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I (but will train)
  • Certification under WAQTC guidelines for Embankment (EBTT) and In-Place Density (DTT), Aggregate (Agg), and either Asphalt I/II (Asp II) but will train
  • Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
  • Willingness to work on projects locally or in rural areas of Idaho
  • Willingness to work either day or night shift depending on construction schedules
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
