Job Summary

This position is responsible for applying and removing casts of patients as instructed by the physicians. It also serves as a dual role of Medical Assistant when not providing casting services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Application of casts to patients that have fractures
  • Removal of casts as directed as directed by the physicians
  • Reduction of fractures as directed by the physicians
  • Remove or reapply dressings, remove sutures, perform injections, taking vitals, and all other routine procedures
  • Follow established sterilization processes
  • Follow proper rooming protocols
  • Ensure end-of-day tasks are completed
  • Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other government guidelines
  • Comply will all processes to meet government reporting requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Orthopedic Technician Certification preferred

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience
