As a swim instructor, youll be in 90-degree water teaching swim lessons to children ages four months to 12 years old. Parents trust you to teach their children this life-saving skill with patience, energy, and enthusiasm.

When you join Goldfish Swim School, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment. You don't have to have a swim background to be a great swim instructor. We provide all training, gear, and certifications and are committed to training, educating, and supporting our people with integrity, compassion, and trust.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work with children
  • Must be 15 years old
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Must pass background examinations (included with training)
  • Must be able to be in the water consistently for a minimum of a three-hour shift in a warm and humid environment
Duties:
  • Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
  • Evaluates student's progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students swim skills
  • Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
  • Assists with setting up the pool before lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
  • Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Education/Experience:
  • No experience is necessary. This is a great first job and part-time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certification courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
