SUMMARY: The Parts Runner plays a crucial role in our manufacturing company's operations, responsible for efficiently transporting machine shop parts between our various locations and vendors, while meticulously maintaining inventory records. This role also extends to representing the company during customer deliveries, ensuring exceptional service standards are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain meticulous organization of tools and track inventory levels to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Purchase Order Management: Effectively manage purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of required parts and supplies.
  • Transportation of Parts: Safely transport tools and parts between locations, ensuring timely delivery to internal technicians and shop areas.
  • Customer Deliveries: Represent the company during customer deliveries, providing exceptional service and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
  • Stock Maintenance: Regularly check and restock parts to ensure availability for production and customer orders.
  • Shipping and Receiving Support: Shipping and receiving tasks, including unpacking incoming shipments and liaising with shippers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly, ensuring it is submitted to the appropriate personnel.Storeroom Organization: Assemble, modify, and optimize storeroom equipment to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
  • Technology Proficiency: Utilize GPS and mobile devices effectively for navigation and communication purposes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure outgoing shipments meet quality specifications and crate parts appropriately for return shipments.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in the parts department and office by disposing of waste, sweeping floors, and organizing parts bins.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support operational needs.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:

  • Experience: Preferred 1 year in parts management, with knowledge of purchasing systems and inventory principles.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain forklift certification or demonstrate proficiency in forklift operation.
  • Vehicle Experience: Experience with a variety of vehicles preferred.
  • Customer Service: Prior experience in parts running and a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules efficiently.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and always exhibit a strong work ethic.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient computer skills preferred for documentation and inventory management tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid and current Driver's License with a good driving record.
