We are looking to grow our exceptional team with a ATF Program Assistant in Mercer County . The Adult Training Facility (ATF) Program Assistant assists the ATF Program Specialist with each Individual Support Plan (ISP), identified strengths, needs, likes, dislikes, and preferences for each individual. This is a salaried exempt position. The following is a list, not an all-inclusive list, of duties for which the ATF Program Assistant is responsible.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be fluent on all assigned individuals’ ISPs.
  • Assist with hands-on training to assigned staff.
  • Assist with training of the individual’s ISP to all staff members.
  • Participate in 24 hours of annual in-servicing as required by governing regulations.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude at all times when representing the individual and the facility.
  • Pass medication and complete documentation.
  • Maintain Practicum Observer status and observe medication passes of staff.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with all staff and management team.
  • Ensure implementation of goal objectives, plans, and procedures.
  • Keep a safe, healthy, and clean environment for all individuals.
  • Be the liaison for outside companies (Meals on Wheels, Bob Evans, Starbucks, etc.) and paperwork.
  • Complete client census weekly.
  • Assist the Program Specialist, as necessary.
  • Plan special activities and implement participation.
  • Oversee end-of-the-day tasks.
  • Access only the minimum information that is necessary to perform job and comply with Verland’s privacy practices.
  • Perform related duties upon request.
  • On-call rotation to assist with residential sites.
  • Work in collaboration with Program Specialists and other management staff in the monitoring of services provided by Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Assist Program Specialist in ensuring DSPs adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the organization.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Compliance.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess working knowledge of current practices in the field of IDD.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with individuals and staff and to prepare necessary written documentation.
  • Must possess the ability and the empathy needed to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with DSPs and other supervisory staff.
  • Must also demonstrate superior leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have a High School Diploma and two years’ experience in the field of IDD.
  • Must have all required clearances and maintain a valid driver’s license.
