JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional Nurse shall be responsible to coordinate the nursing services provided to all residents in CARING's Assisted Living Programs and to assure compliance with the Standards for Licensure and Enforcement of Licensure Regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registered Nursing License issued by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing
  • Two years of full time (full time equivalent) experience in nursing supervision or nursing administration in a health care facility, geriatric facility or rehabilitation center.
  • At least two years of experience working as an RN in an Assisted Living Program or ALP.
  • Participates annually in nursing continuing education.
  • Available by phone at all times
  • CPR & First Aid Certified. Prefer Certification as Instructor
  • Has attended the Train the Trainer Medication Class Workshop

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hours - 40 hours per week
  • Split hours between the ALP sites (according to weekly task)
  • Hours may differ if covering for RN position or RN Vacation
  • Submit to Payroll Department a completed Monthly mileage reimbursement form
  • Submit to Regional Director / Director of Operations a monthly calendar of expected task & designating which site will be working from (update as needed)
  • Submit to Regional Director/ Director of Operations a biweekly report form (due on the Thursday prior to Administrator's meetings held every 2 weeks ( Monday marketing meeting)
  • Monthly meeting in person or via phone with Regional Director & Director of Operations.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Has a knowledge and understanding of the Assisted Living Program rules and regulations
  • Know the state survey process and what the state is going to look for during a survey.
  • Develops and maintains written objectives, standards, procedures and organizational plan for delivery of nursing services.
  • Maintains a cohesive working relationship with the Assisted Living Administrators, RN's, and LPN's.
  • Will review Pharmacy Consult visit reports with site RNs for corrections and compliance
  • Maintains a working relationship with the Regional Director and the Director of Operations and Program Development.
  • Responsible to follow the Registered Nurses job description
  • Be present at and be capable of conducting RN interviews
  • Train newly hired RN's to their position and responsibilities
  • Cover vacant RN positions
  • Cover for RN vacations
  • Nursing - Quality Assurance and Chart Audits
  • Medication Aide Classes
  • Assure Medication Aide in-services are in compliance and to present in-services at each Assisted Living program as needed to maintain that compliance.
  • If not already become CPR/First Aid Instructor
  • Conduct CPR classes
  • Assist with opening of future Assisted Living Program Sites.
  • Abides by established guidelines of CARING Inc. and governing regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations, and personnel.
  • Has full understanding of fire, emergency and safety procedures.
  • Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Regional Director, the Director of Operations and Program Development and/ or the Executive Director.
