Gardening Assistant

The STAR School is currently seeking an experienced individual to work in our gardens with our master gardener. Duties include planting, watering, harvesting, taking care of livestock, composting. Some time might also be spent working with the Facilities staff to do maintenance and repairs on school buildings.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Prior Experience working with plants, livestock and gardening preferred.
• Drivers license, experience operating a tractor is a plus
• Interest in Indigenous food sovereignty
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, be on your feet most of the day
• Teamwork and the ability to also be independent and autonomous

A Level 1 DPS Fingerprint card is required for this position because it is in a school environment and in order to obtain one, individuals must pass a criminal background check.
