The Network Administrator/Engineer responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with Sr. Network Engineers/Architects on network optimization and network security
- Enforcing existing network security policies
- Monitoring the LAN/WAN using enterprise monitoring software
- Configuring LAN/WAN firewalls, routers, and switches, and wireless access points at multiple sites in the global network
- Keeping monitoring software up to date by routers, firewalls, and switches to the monitoring configuration
- Use of enterprise management software to deploy scripts and automated tasks to network devices including automated configuration backups and configuration changes.
- Updating firmware on network devices and replacing failed or failing devices as necessary
- Managing vendor relationship for equipment, outside monitoring, and Internet carriers.
- Preparing and maintaining appropriate written documentation for systems, infrastructure, maintenance logs, and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. In lieu of degree, 6 to 8 years minimum experience will be considered.
- US Citizen
- 5 years of practical experience working as Network Administrator (firewalls, routers, switches) Knowledge of Industry Process Management Best Practices (ITIL, ISO/IEC)
- Experience with Telephony is a huge plus.
- Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) or equivalent knowledge and proven work experience.
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS and of Cisco Layer 3 Switching
- VLANs and 802.1q trunking
- Network management and monitoring software (ManageEngine, Solarwinds)
- AeroHive Extreme IQ Wireless, Aruba Wireless
- Point-to-Point data lines, MPLS, and IPSec Tunnels
- Telecom – AVAYA phone systems
