Puppy Luv Pet Services is a reputable pet care company based in Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax, Virginia. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to our furry clients, ensuring their comfort, health, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and ear cleaning for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
- Assess each dog's coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques and styles based on breed standards and client preferences.
- Safely handle and restrain dogs during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including proper sanitation of grooming tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requirements and provide personalized services.
- Monitor and report any health issues or abnormalities observed during grooming sessions to the pet owner or supervisor.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and offering grooming advice and recommendations.
- Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, trends, and industry standards through continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the grooming department.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate records of grooming services provided and client information.
- Proven experience as a Dog Groomer, preferably in a professional grooming salon or pet care facility.
- In-depth knowledge of dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques.
- Proficiency in various grooming styles and ability to adapt to client preferences.
- Strong understanding of dog behavior and ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high grooming standards.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and restrain dogs of various sizes.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Certification from a recognized grooming school or association is preferred but not required.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensing or certification a plus but not required.
- Previous experience in animal care or other related fields
- Reliable transportation
- Open to flexible schedule
- Passion to help and treat animals.
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
