Position Overview: As a Greenhouse Technician at The Flower Tower, you'll play a vital role in nurturing our diverse collection of plants and maintaining the optimal growing conditions within our greenhouse. From propagation and potting to pest management and plant care, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the health, beauty, and sustainability of our botanical treasures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and maintain greenhouse environmental controls, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation, to create optimal growing conditions for plants.
2. Water, fertilize, and prune plants according to their specific needs, ensuring proper growth and development.
3. Propagate plants through seeding, cutting, grafting, or division techniques, following established protocols and schedules.
4. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address pest infestations, diseases, and other plant health issues, utilizing integrated pest management practices.
5. Pot and repot plants as needed, selecting appropriate soil mixes and containers to promote healthy root growth and drainage.
6. Maintain greenhouse equipment and infrastructure, performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
7. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies, tracking plant stock, and maintaining accurate records of plant care activities.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working in a greenhouse, nursery, or similar environment, with knowledge of plant care techniques and greenhouse operations.
2. Understanding of horticultural principles, including plant physiology, propagation methods, and pest and disease management.
3. Strong attention to detail and observational skills, with the ability to identify plant health issues and implement appropriate solutions.
4. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as work comfortably in a greenhouse environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
6. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed to meet the demands of greenhouse operations.

Education: Degree or certification in horticulture, botany, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
