Police Department

The Village is currently accepting applications for full-time Police Officer. This position protects life and property, enforces federal, state and local laws, investigates criminal activity and responds to emergency/non-emergency situations.

NOTE: In addition to submitting your intent via this job portal, interested parties must complete the Police Application form on the Employment Opportunities page of the Village’s website (www.tequesta.org) and email to mdaniele@tequesta.org  along with the required documentation.  Applicants who have not completed Florida basic police officer academy training will not be considered and neither will applications without the fully completed package. 

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of basic police officer training academy
• Have U.S. citizenship
• Be able to pass a medical examination
• Be able to pass a thorough background check
• Possess a valid Florida driver’s license or be able to obtain one prior to employment

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to perform work requiring little supervision
• Good physical condition
• Sound conflict resolution skills
• Sound oral and written communication skills
• Technical competence with computers
