The Goddard School of Fairfax is currently looking for a full-time infant teacher (6 weeks -16 months old) who will create meaningful experiences for our youngest classrooms. We are looking for education-driven teachers that will foster curiosity and create inquiry-based lesson plans for our infants. If you are interested in being a lead teacher in our new school, you are ready to be a role model and make a difference in the lives of children. Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Childcare / Teaching: 1 year (Required)
- First Aid / CPR (Preferred)
Duties
Overview of Role:
Our teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of their assigned classroom. Lead Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for children in a safe environment. Teachers will work directly with children and parents daily to build strong relationships and provide quality service.
- Advancing physical and intellectual competence by adapting program activities to meet the individual needs of the children
- Providing positive guidance by supporting social and emotional development
- Communicate with parents daily, sharing their children's latest adventures
- Engage with other childcare professionals and continue to grow in your profession
Requirements
Qualifications:
- CDA, Associates, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Must be able to work between the hours of 7:00AM - 6:00PM (8 hour shift based on program needs)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience coordinating and managing infant schedules
- Knowledge of developmental goals for infants and writing lesson plans to reach them
- CPR/First Aid Certification (required)
