About the Role

This is a great opportunity to join a leading Manufacturing and Retail Client as a Sr. Tax AccountantThis role is responsible for supporting the Director of Tax in sales and use tax, property tax, income tax, unclaimed property, business licenses and filings, Census reporting, equity administration, and other special projects.


Daily Duties:

Management of all sales and use tax filings and exemption certificates, including working cross-functionally with IT, Credit and Operations to understand and improve internal processes around sales and use tax and certificate management.

Preparing Canadian GST/HST tax returns and filings.

Preparing all property tax returns and filings.

Computing quarterly estimated income taxes and assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for the income tax provision and tax return.

Financial audit participation and preparation of required audit supporting schedules.

Researching unclaimed property laws and prepare required filings.

Preparing Census reports.

Preparing various state, local, and federal business information returns.

Preparing business license filings and research new business license requirements as needed.

Coordinating and assisting in all tax audits.

Assisting in administration of employee equity program.

Performing other accounting/tax functions as needed.

Requirements:

BS Degree in finance or accounting.

At least 2 4 years accounting and/or tax experience, preferably with consumer goods.

Experience using SAP a plus.

Experience with Avalara sales and use tax software a plus.

Advanced Excel skills.

Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient.

Adaptive to change.

Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks.

Committed team player and contributor.

Ability to meet assigned deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision.

Inquisitive and eager to learn.
