Core Competencies and Expectations:

• Mechanically inclined with all-around knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration.
• Hands-on capabilities for repairs to locks, plumbing fixtures and electrical outlets.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Capable of managing engineering projects.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• Able to diagnose minor HVAC problems and implement repairs; install thermostats and set programming.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Working knowledge of carpentry and painting.
• Working knowledge of power tools.
• Capable of supervising inventory controls and preventative maintenance programs.

Job Summary

Essential Functions:

The Engineering Specialist is responsible for maintaining the areas of the clubhouse facility, including the physical building structure. The Engineering Specialist reports to the Lifestyle Director and assists with minor mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment. If major repairs are required the Engineering Specialist will be liaison between the Clubhouse and the 3rd party contractor.

Job Tasks/Duties:

• Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, minor electrical systems issues and building structures of the clubhouse.
• Makes grouting repairs, patches walls and paints.
• Coordinates with Lifestyle Director to procure parts and items needed for maintenance, completion of work orders and general department supplies.
• Assists in checking fire protection systems for proper operation.
• Assists with the club’s ongoing preventive maintenance programs focusing on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and flooring.
• Suggests cost-saving alternatives applicable to maintenance and engineering responsibilities.
• Completes maintenance requests assigned by the Lifestyle Director.
• Completes other appropriate tasks assigned by the Lifestyle Director.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Responds to emergencies at any time.
