Below is what you need to know:

Day to day

  1. Interfacing with COR3 staff to assist with Subrecipient communications.
  2. Must contact personally by phone with the subrecipient prior to email correspondence.
  3. Outreach sub-recipient through direct contact around the island municipalities.
  4. Report Requests for Information to the subrecipient as received from the Closeout Specialist.
  5. Solicitate and obtain Closeout Request letters as required by COR3.
  6. Communicate the findings of the closeout process for concurrence of the final numbers.
  7. Attending meetings with subrecipients during and after the closeout process. These meetings are generally conducted in Spanish.
  8. Assisting the team with obtaining any written documents requested by COR3 or required by FEMA to close the project.
  9. Prepare Word documentation for the clients and provide additional support as needed.
  10. Be able to plan, coordinate and deliver technical support to the client regarding their policies and procedures.

What do you need to bring?

  • (1) year experience working with FEMA PA and/or HMGP closeout process.
  • (1) year experience working with FEMA programs and disaster recovery.
  • Experience performing a wide range of duties directly related to grant management activities for Stafford Act programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of how to request reimbursement for eligible expenses under the FEMA PA program.
  • Knowledge on the technical aspects of the FEMA PA or HMGP programs and ability to exercise independent judgement and provide advice to subrecipients, within the limits of applicable Federal and State statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working on state and/or federal grant programs; FEMA Public Assistance and or Hazard Mitigation programs, project closeout experience or similar fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred major in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Finance, or another relevant field.
  • A clear understanding of how to comply with projects and programs.
  • Assertive Communicator, problem solver, a teamwork fan and player.
  • Adaptability to work in different scenarios, diversity of people, and fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic with attention to detail and Time Management keeper.
  • The person must be based in Puerto Rico.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, preferred.
