Hiring Range: $30 - $35 per hour (paid biweekly)

The Liaison will proactively offer support to unhoused individuals who may be located on CHT properties. In addition, the Liaison will connect such individuals to appropriate service agencies and resources. The Liaison will also provide support to CHT’s Shelter, Hotel, Property Management and Resident Services staff during difficult interactions, assisting with problem solving related to a wide array of challenges while modeling a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with community service agencies and CHT staff
  • Perform direct outreach to the unhoused population that may be located on CHT properties and/or guests in CHT’s hotel or shelter programs
  • Use active listening, compassion, and verbal de-escalation skills to diffuse conflict
  • Act as a resource for staff, providing insight and mentorship as applicable to promote positive growth and guest/tenant/resident interactions
  • Provide backup and support at hotel and/or shelter locations as needed
  • Perform special projects that may be assigned in support of the director or associate director
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • BA in Social work, Psychology, Human Services or related field or at least 7 years of experience working with the unhoused or other high-risk populations
  • Familiarity with housing programs, social service programs, and confidentiality rules and regulations including HIPAA
  • Basic computer and technology proficiencies
  • Must be highly self-motivated and committed to social justice, equity, inclusion, and CHT’s membership-based model of permanently affordable housing
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, empathy, confidentiality, conflict resolution, and relational skills
  • Must have strong coaching, mentoring, and organizational skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Knowledge of social programs, particularly those related to unhoused populations and housing programs
  • Expert ability to handle high-pressure situations in a calm and professional manner
