POSITION SUMMARY

• Position requires utilization of clinical knowledge to maintain efficient outpatient infusion/chemotherapy scheduling and like services performed in the Chemotherapy/Infusion Therapy Clinic. Interfaces and communicates with physician offices and maintains a positive, constructive working relationship. Performs related tasks as required. Is dependable and remains flexible in staffing patterns, routines, assignments, and schedule changes.

OVERVIEW

• The evaluation is to assure individual performance, departmental goals and organizational goals are aligned. It is designed to support communication between the manager and the employee. Employee perception of their own performance is very important. To maximize the benefit of this process, both the manager and the employee participate in the evaluation process.

• Schedules outpatient infusion/chemotherapy treatments for patients with appropriate date and time utilizing current scheduling software.

• Effective communication skills with physicians, nursing staff, co-workers and patients.

• Basic knowledge of general medical, oncology and chemotherapy are desired.

• Responsible for patient chart assembly prior to each day’s schedule.

• Completes pre-treatment phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.

• High School Diploma, 1-3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience.
