Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a decent, safe, and sanitary living environment within our residential facilities.
  • Upkeeps mechanical systems at our SAFETy sites to guarantee optimal functionality.
  • Coordinates and performs both scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintains accurate records, including occupancy reports, maintenance requests, and inventory of supplies.
  • Conducts monthly inspections of participant units and buildings to uphold quality standards.
  • Prepares vacant units through tasks such as painting, carpeting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Assists in scheduling and monitoring repairs conducted by external contractors.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma, two (2) years of technical training, and three (3) years of relevant experience; or a High school diploma and five (5) years of relevant experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):

  • Access to regular, dependable, and timely transportation.
  • Ability and comfortability working with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, convener, relationship builder, and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information possessing skills to handle situations professionally and diplomatically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
