Sr. Telecom Technician

We are currently bidding on a contract providingIT and Cyber Security services for the IT Division within the NSWC Corona Division, Corporate Operations Department, supporting the Command Information Office, Information Technology Operations, Information Management Customer Services and Cyber Security.

We are seeking a Telecommunications Technician.

In this role, the selected candidate installs, tests, troubleshoots, programs, maintains, and repairs digital switching equipment, attendant consoles, power and ringing relay racks, miscellaneous telephone, radio, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and computer data circuits and related apparatus required in the central switching office. This worker analyzes system failures and other unusual system occurrences to isolate the source of the problem and determine whether the failure is caused by software, hardware, or other factors. Employees in this position maintain manual and/or computerized central office records, including detail records, traffic analysis records, cable records, line records, subscriber service records, and spare parts inventories.

This role requires:

• Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, OR more than five (5) years of relevant Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technical support and three (3) years of experience on the day-to-day operations of the VoIP telephone system, including infrastructure (wiring),
• 2 years of experience in an enterprise network level environment using CISCO routers, switches, ISE and ASA firewalls. Certified CompTIA Security + (or certified per the current revision of DOD 8570.01-M) - IAT Level II
• Experience acting as a lead on conducting site surveys and identifying locations of all IT infrastructure drops on provided floor plans.
• Must have 1 (or more) of the following Cisco (OEM) IT certifications or the industry equivalent:
• -isco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise
• Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking
• Must have 1 (or more) of the following IT certifications or the industry equivalent:
• BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) Certificate
• BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) Certification
• BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise
• Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking
