Job Description
Purpose of Classification:
Performs manual labor for asphalt and concrete maintenance construction. This is first in a series of two classifications and is an entry level unskilled position. This classification typically reports to the Supervisor.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This description is intended to indicate the kinds of duties and responsibilities that may be required of employees given this title. It shall not be construed as determining what the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position shall be. It is not intended to limit in any way the right of supervisors to assign, direct and control the work of employees under their supervision.
Examples of Duties:
· Performs cleaning and preparation duties at the job site.
· Crack fills asphalt and concrete projects as directed.
· Seal coats streets, driveways, parking lots and small concrete projects as directed.
· Patches asphalt streets, driveways, parking lots and small concrete repair projects as directed.
· Places and picks up barricades.
· Drives a truck and unloads materials and equipment at job site.
· Provides labor for other trades.
· Installs caution signage and fencing.
· Cleans shop and jobsite.
· Cleans trucks and equipment.
· Assists in preparing truck and equipment for assigned daily projects with tools and materials needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of hand and power tools.
· Skill in performing routine manual labor.
· Skill in following verbal and written directions.
Minimum Qualifications:
No prior experience required.
Possession of a valid driver’s license upon employment. If you do not have a driver’s license, do NOT drive any company vehicle.
