We are seeking an experienced Theatre Instructor to join our team in school-based settings, Monday through Friday. This role requires a passion for theatre arts and the ability to work with students from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade. Teaching hours will vary depending on school placement. Compensation:

$30 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a dynamic theatre arts curriculum that engages students of diverse ages and skill levels.
  • Teach acting techniques, improvisation, stagecraft, and other aspects of theatrical performance.
  • Guide students in exploring character development, script analysis, and theatrical storytelling.
  • Collaborate with school staff to integrate theatre education into the academic curriculum and school productions.
  • Direct and oversee rehearsals for school plays, musicals, and other theatrical performances.
  • Organize and coordinate theatre workshops, guest artist visits, and field trips to enhance students' theatre experience.
  • Evaluate student progress through assessments, performances, and portfolio reviews, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive theatre environment, adhering to safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Theatre Instructor or Director, preferably in educational or youth settings.
  • Expertise in acting, directing, and theatre production, with knowledge of various theatrical styles and genres.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity and develop their theatrical talents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Certification in theatre education or related field is desirable.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting teamwork among students.
