Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition: Metrologist Location: Saginaw, MIPay: $80-$85k.Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Position Summary:An agile, passionate partner revolutionizing motion solution. The Metrologist will report to the Quality Manager. It’s a full time, DIRECT hire opportunity in Saginaw, MI 48062 and is 100% on site Minimum Requirements:
- Have developed new measurement systems and test methods.
- Have specified and purchased gages for new purchase orders and replacements.
- Developed and adjusted inspection plans to improve efficiencies.
- Built control plans to inspect parts for entire manufacturing process.
- Preferred CMM/vision measuring system programming.
- Must be able to conduct sophisticated analyses, develop new measurement systems and test methods, and to manage manufacturing and inspection functions.
- Responsible for planning and supporting the calibration, repair, and testing of measuring and test equipment.
- Responsibilities also include developing calibration procedures and systems used by calibration technicians and ensuring compliance with calibration procedures.
- Monitors and maintains out of calibration report from “Gagepack” software on a weekly basis.
- Reads and interprets Process Drawings.
- Performs GR & R studies.
- Responsible for conformity to product and shall stop production to correct quality problems.
- Programming experience using Calypso software.
- Program CMM for inspection plans using detailed drawings.
- Other duties may be assigned
- Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment, but aerospace is highly preferred.
- Must have 4+ years' Metrology Engineering experience.
- Must have experience with both gage and measuring system design as well as getting quotes and purchasing new gages.
- Must have realistic understanding of lead time needed for GAGE purchases
- Multi-tasker that works well under pressure, manage stress.
- Education – bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S) from four-year College or University preferably in a technical area or equivalent experience
