WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Cocktail Servers at The Living Room are an essential part of the feeling and atmosphere of our upscale dining experience. The ability to wear the proper uniform, shoes attire and positive attitude are crucial for this position. The Cocktail Servers must provide the same experience as any fine-dining establishment.
While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Satisfy guest requests in a timely manner while providing a positive and friendly experience
Take food and beverage orders by serving guests in the Living Room
Maintain clear knowledge about the Living Room’s well-spirits, house wines, liquor list, beer list and food menu.
Accurately enter orders into the POS system to send to the kitchen and bar, indicating special requests and dietary restrictions
Collect payment from guests, issue receipts and change; secure a valid method of payment for any tab; abide by all cash handling procedures
Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages
Ensure all tables, chairs and other furniture items are clean and ready to receive guests
Complete opening and closing duties without affecting the guest experience
Assist bartenders by organizing and cleaning the bar area when it is needed
Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
All other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or any other member of management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No supervision required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
At least one year of fine dining experience preferred
Previous experience in and knowledge of restaurant operations and industry standards is a plus.
Familiarity with reservation systems and basic computer skills is a plus.
Prior guest relations training
Skills:
A polite, engaging, and professional personality
Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence
Must be able to speak English to communicate with guests. Must be able to recognize situations which may involve guests that require immediate supervisory attention. Must know and use reasonable care for the safety and security of the guests.
Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Positive, upbeat attitude/personality

Physical & Mental Requirements:
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, sometimes more than 8 hours
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables
Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/ or management
Ability to bend, kneel, squat
Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Ensure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping are performed safely
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding

The Living Room is The Admiral Hotel’s lounge that is located adjacent to Le Moyne’s Chophouse
