Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director will play a critical role in guiding the clinical development strategy and execution for our pipeline programs. This position requires a deep understanding of clinical research, regulatory requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in clinical development and a passion for innovative biotechnological solutions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and oversight of clinical trials, including protocol development, study design, execution and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute clinical strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise in the development of clinical trial protocols, study reports, and regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Serve as the primary medical contact for clinical sites, investigators, and key opinion leaders.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical data, making recommendations for program advancement or modification.
  • Ensure clinical programs adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages scientific excellence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and clinical investigators.
  • Represent the company at scientific conferences, industry meetings, and regulatory hearings.
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and clinical developments in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Provide medical and scientific input to research and development teams.
  • Contribute to the identification and evaluation of new therapeutic opportunities and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree with board certification in a relevant medical specialty. Pulmonology or Rheumatology preferred.
  • AD: 0-1 year of clinical development experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Director: 2-5 years of clinical development experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing successful clinical trials.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines (FDA, EMA, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for advancing medical science and improving patient care.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience in early-stage biotech companies or startups.
    • Background in a specific therapeutic area relevant to the company’s pipeline.
    • Experience with IND and NDA/BLA submissions.
  • Passion, humility, and excitement for doing whatever it takes to drive research forward toward a goal of helping patients with unmet medical needs
