As Needed Clinician

About the Position:

The Per Diem Clinician (1, 2, or 3), Canaan Residential is responsible for collaborating with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to create an individualized recovery experience that incorporates the body, mind and spirit of each client. Provide individual and group therapy sessions and facilitate treatment groups. Coordinate care with external providers and community such as: Family Members, Primary Care Physicians, Psychiatrists, Intensive Outpatient programs, Legal Aids, Family Interventionists, University and High School Administrative Staff, and Employee Assistance Program Representatives.

Your Role:

  • Review and utilize screening/assessment tools, stage-wise interventions and treatment models.
  • Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts therapeutic treatment utilizing best practices of counseling, case management and crisis intervention.
  • Understand group dynamics/processes and facilitate group therapy with a focus on integrated care and documents efforts via individualized progress notes.
  • Maintain clinical chart in accordance with agency and accreditation standards
  • Role model, explain and encourage pro-social behaviors such as: time management, appropriate language, dress and the importance of building fellowships
  • Collaborate and contact client's stakeholders such as emergency contacts, family members and referral sources as applicable
  • Review and update client's collaborative integrated wellness plan
  • Communicate with Client Services and Medical staff to assist with client medication compliance and medication issues as applicable
  • Collaborate with Mountainside team; most importantly, the partners in Residential, such as Family Wellness, Client Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food Services and Continuing Care
  • Participate in monthly individual clinical supervision and group clinical supervision when required
  • Complete required Mountainside staff trainings (such as Relias) when due and attend scheduled trainings to improve clinical skills as assigned
  • Maintain communication with client's treatment team and seek ad hoc supervision when needed

Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology or related field Required.
  • Licensed eligible/preferred as: LPC, LADC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT in the state of CT.
  • Minimum two years' experience/knowledge in substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders integrated treatment. Required.
  • Previous experience with Residential treatment setting preferred.

Compensation:

The base rate of pay for this position is $23.00 to $40.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
