Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled and licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join their experienced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, boundary analysis, topographic mapping, construction layout, and other related surveying tasks for various projects in the tri-state area. The Professional Land Surveyor will collaborate with the engineering team and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and reliable survey data for project development and completion.

What you get to do:

  • Conducting Land Surveys: Perform field surveys using modern total station with recon instruments for terrestrial surveys and construction layouts. Utilize GPS technology for horizontal control and larger survey projects.
  • Boundary Analysis: Determine and analyze land boundaries, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and property lines.
  • Topographic Mapping: Generate precise topographic maps to provide crucial data for engineering and construction projects.
  • Construction Layout: Provide accurate stakeout and layout services for construction projects to facilitate proper execution.
  • Survey Data Processing: Process and analyze survey data using relevant software and tools to generate reports and detailed survey plans.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to all relevant surveying regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other surveyors to support project development and timely completion.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on survey progress.
  • Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest surveying technologies and advancements to enhance expertise and efficiency.

Your background and expertise:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License: Hold a valid Professional Land Surveyor license in the state of New Jersey (additional licenses in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut will be advantageous).
  • Education: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in land surveying, including boundary analysis, topographic mapping, and construction layout.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with modern surveying instruments, total station equipment, GPS technology, and survey data processing software.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to analyze survey data, address challenges, and propose practical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in survey data and reports.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: A collaborative and adaptable mindset to work in a team-oriented environment.

Pay:

  • $115,000 to $140,000 base salary
  • All transportation reimbursed including tolls.

  • % of new business brought in to the company paid via commission
