Crisis Hotline Shift Supervisor

As part of the 988/National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Long Island Crisis Center is searching for Crisis Hotline Shift Supervisors to join our team. The ideal candidates are mental health professionals who are compassionate, motivated, technologically comfortable and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides support to hotline counselors during shifts including clinical guidance and debriefing on difficult calls
• Facilitates emergency/911 response when needed

• Available to counselors for technology assistance and general questions
• Ensures that all calls are documented properly in our database including CPS forms

• Provides ongoing monitoring of calls to ensure quality
• Assists in compiling data and reports
• Participates in supervision, trainings, and staff meetings as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements:

• Reliable and able to respond to requests for assistance immediately 
• Technologically proficient; ability to navigate digital platforms
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and can shift attention under distracting conditions
• Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
• Must have reliable computer/internet access and a secure, confidential and quiet workspace

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or related field.
• Experience in clinical supervision and crisis intervention
• LMSW or LMHC a plus

Schedule:

• Approximately 15 - 20 hours a week during the following shifts: Monday - Thursday evening (5 pm - 11 pm) or Monday - Thursday overnight (11 pm - 7 am)

• This is a remote position but the ideal candidates are located in Nassau, Suffolk, or one of the 5 boroughs for easy call access to 911 and local emergency services
