Founded in 1992, InServ is a full-service industrial contractor working in the life science, advanced manufacturing, and food and beverage industries. We specialize in four trades (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation, hygienic piping and HVAC), working from multiple locations across North Carolina, and for clients across the Southeast. Our work demands attention to safety, commitment to quality, and adherence to schedules.

The VDC Piping Specialist will work as part of a team to produce coordinated VDC models of hydronic, hygienic and plumbing piping. Models will be developed using the Revit software along with any applicable add-ins.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Piping design and modeling production based on existing Revit models or P&IDs.

- Develop coordinated BIM models while working effectively with the project team.

- Produce project deliverables such as spool drawings, isometrics, plan/elevation drawings.

- Support VDC team with development of project templates within Revit.

- Attend Coordination meetings via Microsoft teams or equivalent apps.

- Maintain project cloud hubs, keeping it accessible and organized.

- Communicate with Project Managers, field and shop teams about updates and project goals.

Experience Requirements

- 2-5 years of modeling experience using Revit or equivalent 3D modeling software

- Working knowledge of BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud or equivalent cloud storage and documentation system.

- Life Sciences experience and knowledge of pharmaceutical processes preferred.

- Knowledge of industrial process systems, components, and functions preferred.

- Knowledge of hydronic, and plumbing piping systems preferred.

- Working knowledge of Autobid mechanical estimating software or equivalent.

- Knowledge of design development and construction operations

- Proficient in software applications including Revit, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Projects, and Outlook.

- Strong computer skills and a strong understanding of modern technology as it relates to our work.

Physical Demands

This position is regularly required to:

- Walk, climb stairs, sit, squat, and stand.

- Speak clearly and hear at normal levels.

- See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and be able to adjust focus.

- Reach with hands and arms.

- Use hands and fingers to operate computers, cell phones, and office equipment.

- Able to navigate the hazards commonly associated with an industrial construction worksite.

General

- This is a remote position. Home office space and desk space to house monitors, and computers

- Clean driving record resident state drivers license, clean Criminal Background Check, pass applicable drug and alcohol tests.

- Strong people skills, including the ability to handle various personalities and to develop professional relationships.

- Action oriented and a self-starter, driven to push projects and tasks to successful closure.

- Able to define problems and craft solutions to improve the overall VDC process.

- Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate accurately and persuasively.
