All Animal Hospital is a premier veterinary facility in Tupelo, MS, dedicated to delivering high-quality medical care and comfort to pets and their families. We pride ourselves on our compassionate approach and state-of-the-art services. We are seeking a motivated and reliable full-time Kennel Assistant to join our team and ensure the well-being of our boarding and grooming guests.

The Kennel Assistant will be responsible for the daily care and management of pets in our boarding and grooming facilities. This role involves working( including some nights, weekends, and holidays) to ensure that all animals receive the care and attention they need around the clock. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling a variety of tasks related to animal care.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Pet Care:
  • Provide daily feeding, exercise, and grooming for boarding and grooming pets.
  • Ensure all pets have clean, comfortable, and safe living environments.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians and document all treatments.
  • Monitor and report any health or behavior changes in boarding guests.
Sanitation and Maintenance:
  • Perform regular cleaning and disinfection of kennels, bedding, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Manage waste disposal and keep the facility organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
Client Interaction:
  • Interact with clients during drop-off and pick-up, providing updates on their pets and addressing any concerns.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with scheduling appointments and inquiries related to boarding and grooming services.
Assistance During Exams and Procedures:
  • Support veterinary staff during examinations, treatments, and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare animals and equipment for veterinary care and ensure a smooth process during visits.
Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or unusual situations involving the pets in our care.
  • Follow established protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all animals.
General Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of pet care, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and special instructions.
  • Exhibit excellent attention to detail in all tasks and ensure adherence to facility protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the veterinary team and other staff members to provide exceptional care.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary, or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in customer service or client interaction is a plus.
Skills:
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to sanitation procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • Capable of handling physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and moving quickly in a busy environment.
Personal Attributes:
  • Compassionate and patient with animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of responsibility and reliability.
  • Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Schedule:
Full-time position requiring availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
