Job Title: Structural Inspector

Position Overview: Seeking a highly motivated individual with at least 6+ years experience that has experience in inspecting and confirming the structural soundness of a home or building's load bearing components such as the foundation, joists, beams, trusses, or columns/posts.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspect residential and commercial buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling; recommend modification and adjustment as necessary; provide timely and thorough reports of each inspection.
  • Assist with other inspectors and related staff as appropriate.
  • Work with other department and city employees as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and materials as well as foundation, concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction, framing, plastering, installations and a large variety of other complex and routine building system elements for both residential and commercial construction. 6.   • Coordinates with office staff, engineers and field staff as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Possession of International Code Council Certification as a Building Inspector
  • 6+ years of experience as a structural/building inspector

  • Attention to detail and documentation.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees and the public.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
