Lunch Program Director / Cook
The Lunch Program Director will oversee all aspects of the National School Lunch program at
St. John’s Lutheran School and is responsible for all food safety and nutrition that complies with
local, state and federal requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
- Head Cook of the school lunch program.
- Oversee other workers and volunteers who assist in the kitchen.
- Menu planning with all documentation to comply with Federal and State guidelines.
- Monitor the point of sale to make sure students’ trays are in compliance with Offer Vs Serve meal plan.
- Fill out daily production records.
- Maintain food inventory, order or shop for needed food and supplies.
- Obtain 12 hours of training each school year.
- Work closely with the lunch program administrator to ensure all reporting and documentations are done in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean kitchen to meet all safety and sanitary standards and inspections.
- Qualifications
Associates Degree in Food and Nutrition and 1 year of food service experience OR High School Diploma and 3 years of food service experience - At least 8 hours of food safety training (Certification) within the last 5 years or able to
complete within 30 days of hire - Must be reliable, flexible and have a love to serve students
Start Date/Hours: August 2024 / 30 hours a week
Starting Pay: $19,475/yr or $1025 biweekly paid over 19 checks.
