Location: Pacific, Missouri

Monday through Friday Onsite

SUMMARY:

Coordinate's activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising. Compile information to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material for the company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reviews requisitions
  2. Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
  3. Consults catalogs and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  4. Types or writes RFQ of bid forms and mails forms to supplier firms.
  5. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
  6. Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  7. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
  8. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  2. Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
  3. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  4. Expedites delivery of goods to users. Expedite through interdepartmental, overseas, vendors, etc.
  5. Coordinates with receiving to ensure accurate packing.
  6. Manages inventory by compiling stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
  7. Coordinates with Accounts payable to review discrepancies, purchase price, and quantity.
  8. Because of the changing nature of our business, this job description will inevitably change. The employee will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Purchasing experience
  3. Must be detail oriented.
  4. Knowledge of inventory software, manufacturing software, or order processing systems. EPICOR a Plus
  5. Good computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft products including Access, Excel, and Work
  6. Ability to follow directions
  7. Ability to multi-task
  8. Excellent customer service skills
