Job Title

  • FSQA Technician 1, 2nd shift (2pm-11PM)

  • Quality Assurance Supervisor
  • Quality Assurance Manager

Key Accountabilities

The person in this position will be heavily involved in the day to day operations at the Romeoville, IL bakery. This person will be working in tandem with the QA Shift Lead to ensure all food safety measures and quality parameters are being met as required. This person will also be asked to assist Operations to ensure we are meeting our customer’s expectations, while adhering to the internal expectations set by Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting assigned areas for cleanliness during pre-operations when applicable
  • Adhering to product specifications on finished product
  • Finding discrepancies and calling correct personnel to handle GMP and HACCP violations
  • Perform CCP and metal detector checks on timely manner
  • Performing net weight verification of finished product
  • Verifying correct ingredients are used with the BOM
  • Verifying labeling requirements are accurate and legible
  • Understanding how to fill out ALL paperwork for day to day operations in designated time assigned.
  • Assisting other QA members in day to day operations
  • Work with Operations and other department on resolving food safety and quality issues
  • If asked, carry out projects for the QA Manager or QA Supervisor
  • Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.

Food Safety / Quality:

  • Adhere to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
  • Follow all USDA guidelines
  • Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance
  • Comply with customer requirements when applicable
  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • High School, but an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s a plus
  • 1-2 years in a USDA environment
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish)is a plus
  • Working in a fast pace environment
