Job Summary:

Shoal Creek Foot & Ankle Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing clinical support to our podiatrists, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist podiatrists with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize instruments.
  • Record patient histories and take vital signs.
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by podiatrists.
  • Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment.


Specific Duties:


Clinical Support:

  • Assist with routine foot care procedures and treatments.
  • Prepare and assist with minor surgical procedures.
  • Apply and remove dressings, bandages, and casts.
  • Take and develop foot x-rays as needed.


Patient Care:

  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms.
  • Record patient information and update medical records.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients.
  • Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns during visits.
  • Assist with patient follow-up and coordinate care as needed.


Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Order and maintain medical supplies and inventory.
  • Assist with front desk duties as needed.


Personnel Requirements:


Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or podiatry setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
