The BSA Analyst position is open to mid- to experienced-level candidates within our Norwalk, Polk City, or Clive offices. 


Responsibilities


A Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Analyst reports to and works directly with the BSA Officer in all aspects of accounts and activities under different departments of the bank relating to BSA, AML and OFAC compliance as described in the FFIEC Bank Secrecy Act Anti-Money Laundering Examination Manual. A BSA Analyst maintains current knowledge of the BSA and all related AML and OFAC regulations and uses BSA/AML monitoring application systems (Verafin) and other reports to detect suspicious activities.


A BSA Analyst works with the BSA Officer to conduct periodic assessment of the bank's applicable departments for compliance with BSA/AML/GIP/OFAC procedures. Creates case investigation files that includes Enhanced Due Diligence conducted and ensures that the decision-making process to file or not to file a SAR is documented on the investigation case form. Periodically reviews domestic correspondent bank accounts activities. Periodically performs OFAC scrub. Reviews Currency Transaction Reports for accuracy and submission. Periodically prepares, approves and/or submits SARs electronically. Assists in providing applicable BSA/AML training to staff and Directors. Maintains strong understanding of bank operations among all departments, with excellent communication skills required to communicate effectively among all departments, Directors, auditors, regulatory agencies, and other external parties.



Required Skills


  • Minimum of 2 years in a BSA or BSA-focused compliance role at a financial institution
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressively-more-responsible operations, compliance, anti-money laundering or Bank Secrecy compliance experience at a financial institution
  • Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Money Laundering Control Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations and associated regulations and interpretations
  • Understanding of and ability to follow all bank operations, policies and procedures
  • Must stay current with changes in law and regulations and implement changes in a timely manner
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Take a lead in promoting Luana Savings Bank to our surrounding areas
  • Professional appearance and behavior
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization
  • Leadership abilities and a team-player attitude
  • Strong computer skills with ability to operate Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and quickly learn bank specific programs and technology
  • Reside within a 20 mile radius from the designated office or willing to relocate - please include location/relocation details in cover letter or resume submission
  • HS Diploma or GED required


Desired Skills


  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Verafin (BSA/AML Compliance and Management System)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Jack Henry core system
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree preferred in a related field
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified BSA/AML Professional (CBAP)


Additional Info


  • At-Will, Full-Time position based on 40 hours per week
  • Schedule is 8AM-4:30PM M-F; (8AM-11AM Sat)
    • All staff members work Saturdays on a rotating schedule, compensating time off is given for Saturdays 
  • Travel: Occasional for training
  • Employment is subject to background and credit check
