Our location at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA is currently looking for a Jr Sous to build our culinary team
Summary
A Jr. Sous Chef assumes the responsibilities and duties of Sous Chef. Liaison between front of the house and Cooks, ordering product, butchering proteins, administer discipline as needed, train and develop staff, develop daily specials as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
- Ensures effective stock purchase, its receipt and storage
- Assist other kitchen staff as need arisesLeaning the ordering systems
- Supervise performance of kitchen staff to ensure proper activity
- Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food-in quality, quantity and safety
- Work towards exceeding customer’s expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service
- Ensure all complaints, inquiries, and suggestions by customers are attended to accordingly
- Ensure proper arrangement and garnishing of food
- mange food logs
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
- Partly responsible for the preparation of kitchen cleaning rosters and the supervisor of cleaning schedule
- Creating and ensuring superior guest experiences
Requirements
- Must have minimum 2 years in a similar position.
- Strong leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, organization skills
- Ability to check for understanding after direction is given (follow up,)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to multitask
- Kitchen and Management experience - be a team builder
- Computer based skills: Windows and Microsoft Office based management reporting. Point of Sale System, Internet/Intranet, and Google Workspace.
